Two days in May bring more travelling supporters to Wembley than any others: the FA Cup Final and the EFL Championship Play-Off Final. Tens of thousands of fans head to north-west London from the towns and cities behind their clubs, and the best way to do it together is on your own coach.

The London Coach Company provides private coach and minibus hire to Wembley for supporters’ clubs, pubs, social clubs and fan groups of every size. We collect from your chosen pick-up point, book your coach parking next to the stadium, and bring everyone home together after the final whistle. Request a quote as soon as your club is in contention.

Key dates for 2027

Emirates FA Cup Final – Saturday 22 May 2027

The 146th FA Cup Final is scheduled for Wembley on Saturday 22 May 2027. The semi-finals, also at Wembley, are expected over the weekend of 24–25 April, so finalists will know roughly four weeks in advance.

EFL Championship Play-Off Final – late May bank holiday weekend

The three EFL play-off finals are staged at Wembley across the late May bank holiday weekend, Saturday 29 to Monday 31 May 2027. The Championship final – often called the richest game in football – decides the last promotion place to the Premier League. The regular season ends on 1 May, so finalists may have less than three weeks’ notice.

Who we take to Wembley

We move groups from a handful of friends to several hundred supporters travelling in convoy:

  • Supporters’ clubs and branches – including London and South East branches of clubs based further afield
  • Pubs, social clubs and working men’s clubs running a trip for regulars
  • Fan groups and friends who want to travel together rather than split across trains and cars
  • Corporate and hospitality groups heading to the stadium for a client day
  • Fans arriving in London by train or plane who need a transfer from a hotel, railway station or airport

Why a private coach beats the train on final day

Wembley is well served by public transport, but on a final day it is under huge pressure. Wembley Stadium warns that post-match queues for the stations can be extensive, with managed queuing systems in place. Event-day car parking is limited and must be booked in advance, and street parking around the stadium is restricted for residents.

A private coach removes all of that. Your group leaves from one place, travels together, arrives together and gets home together – with no connections to miss and no one left behind.

Coach parking at Wembley Stadium

The official coach park is right next to the stadium, and on event days every space must be pre-booked through Wembley Official Parking. We handle the booking for you and the coach park charge is always included in your quote – no surprise extras on the day.

Wembley is inside London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone. Every vehicle in our fleet is LEZ and ULEZ compliant, so there are no emissions charges either. Wembley sits outside the Congestion Charge zone, so that charge does not apply to this journey.

Alcohol on football coaches: what the law says

Both finals are designated sporting events under the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985. That means it is a criminal offence to carry alcohol, or to be drunk, on a coach or minibus travelling to or from the match. The operator and the person who hired the vehicle can also be held responsible if they knowingly allow it.

Police regularly check supporters’ coaches on major match days, so all of our Wembley journeys are alcohol-free. We’re happy to plan your pick-up from a clubhouse or pub where your group can meet beforehand.

Planning your final day

Getting there

Roads around Wembley, the North Circular (A406) and the M1 approach get very busy on final days. We plan pick-up times to get you parked and inside the stadium comfortably before kick-off, and your driver will confirm the meeting point on the day.

Getting home

We agree a return meeting point and departure time with your organiser in advance. Allow for extra time and penalties, which can add over half an hour. For long days, we plan drivers’ hours in line with UK regulations, which can affect departure times or mean a second driver is needed – we will explain this clearly when we quote.

Organiser checklist

  • Confirm your group size once tickets are allocated
  • Share every pick-up point and a named contact for each vehicle
  • Tell us about any accessibility needs when you book
  • Check the stadium’s bag and banner rules before you travel
  • Brief your group that the coach is alcohol-free, both ways

Vehicles for every size of group

From 9-seat minibuses for a small group of friends to midi coaches, full-size coaches for large supporters’ clubs, we match the vehicle to your numbers. For bigger groups we can run several vehicles together from the same pick-up. Browse our full fleet and see our pricing for more detail.

Making a weekend of it?

If your group is staying over in London, we can also run a sightseeing day before or after the match – to the Tower of London & Tower Bridge, The British Museum or anywhere else on your list.

Frequently asked questions

Can you book coach parking at Wembley for us?

Yes. Event-day coach parking at Wembley is pre-booked through Wembley Official Parking, and the official coach park sits right next to the stadium. We book the space for your vehicle, and the coach park charge is included in your quote.

When should we book coaches for a Wembley final?

As early as possible. Finalists are only confirmed a few weeks before the match – after the FA Cup semi-finals in late April and the Championship play-off semi-finals in May – and demand for coaches rises sharply the moment a club qualifies. Get in touch as soon as your club is in contention.

Can we drink alcohol on the coach?

No. Under the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 it is a criminal offence to carry or drink alcohol on a coach or minibus travelling to or from a designated football match, which includes both of these finals. The operator and the person who hired the vehicle can also be liable, so all of our Wembley journeys are alcohol-free.

What happens if the match goes to extra time or penalties?

Extra time and a penalty shoot-out can add well over half an hour. We agree a departure time and meeting point with your group organiser in advance and build this possibility into the plan, including drivers’ hours for long days.

Where can you pick our group up from?

We collect from anywhere in London and the surrounding counties – clubhouses, pubs, workplaces, hotels, railway stations and airports. Tell us your pick-up points and group size and we will confirm the best vehicle and timings.

Are your vehicles ULEZ compliant?

Yes. Wembley is inside London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone, and every vehicle in our fleet is LEZ and ULEZ compliant, so there are no emissions charges to add to your trip.
