Why take a coach to the Tower of London?
Unlike most central London attractions, the Tower has a coach park right next door. That means a set-down two minutes from the entrance, a coach waiting close by all day and a quick pickup at the end, with no Tube changes and no head counts on crowded platforms. Bags and suitcases, which aren't allowed inside the Tower, stay on the coach.
We plan every booking around your entry time, and you deal with one named contact from quote to return.
Typical bookings:
- School day trip: Normans, medieval and Tudor history, back before the end of the school day.
- Tower and Tower Bridge day: the Tower in the morning and the Bridge's glass-floored walkways and Victorian Engine Rooms in the afternoon, with the coach waiting at Tower Hill.
- Tower and Thames river trip: a river cruise from Tower Pier or Tower Bridge Quay, with collection from your landing pier.
- International and senior tour groups: hotel or airport pickup, the Tower as part of a London sightseeing day and onward travel to the next stop.

- Schools book through a request form, giving three possible dates. Subsidised school rates apply on term-time weekdays.
- School ratios: 1:5 for Key Stage 1, 1:10 for Key Stages 2 to 4 and 1:15 for over-16s, with at least two adults for Key Stages 2 to 4. SEND groups set their own ratios. Other groups keep to 1:15.
- Lunch: schools allocated a lunchroom are told two weeks before. Other groups can pre-book lunches at the New Armouries Café.
- Time and tours: allow at least two to three hours. Yeoman Warder tours are included and run every 45 minutes, with the last at 15:15.
For your coach booking: we set down 15 to 20 minutes before your entry slot, allowing for the walk to the Welcome Centre and security. Rules are set by Historic Royal Palaces and can change. Always confirm on the Tower of London group visits page.
Adding Tower Bridge to your visit
Tower Bridge is a few minutes' walk from the Tower, so no coach move is needed. Groups cross the high-level walkways with glass floors, 42 metres above the Thames, and see the Victorian Engine Rooms.
Always confirm details on the Tower Bridge group visits page.
- Pre-book for 15 or more: group slots run daily from 09:50 to 16:10, or from 12:50 on the second Saturday of each month. Arrive at your slot, not earlier, as space on the Bridge is limited.
- Allow 60 to 90 minutes. Guided tours take up to 16 people, so larger groups may need two tours.
- Schools: one free adult for every six children at Key Stage 1 and every ten at Key Stage 2. Greater London schools may be eligible for the City School Visits Fund. Potters Fields Park, next to the Bridge, is good for packed lunches.
Coach access, drop-off and parking
